New Delhi: Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly is not going to fight the election for the post of BCCI President. Now, the reports are suggesting the Roger Binny will probably fill up the position while Jas Shah will continue to serve as BCCI secretary.
Who is Roger Binny?
Binny is a former India cricketer and he has been a part of 1983 World Cup winning India Team. Earlier, he has also given his services as a member of the BCCI selection committee.
Why will he replace Sourav Ganguly?
Sourav Ganguly is currently serving as the president of BCCI but he has refused to fight for the upcoming election. Consequently, BCCI is on the lookout for a new president. While Roger Binny’s name appeared on the draft of BRRI Electoral Rolls. This raised the speculation of his getting the position.
When are the elections for BCCI President?
The process will start of October 11 as the nominations filing will be done for October 11 and 12 and the election will be held on October 18.
