T20 World Cup 2024: While the ODI World Cup 2023 is currently underway in India and is set to conclude on November 19, discussions about the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled for June 2024, are already on the horizon. The T20 World Cup in 2024 will be a joint venture between the United States and the West Indies. On Friday, Nepal and Oman secured their places in this tournament as Associate Nations. Notably, separate qualification rounds are taking place for each continent, including Africa, Asia, America, and Europe.
A total of 20 teams will participate in this event, with eight countries earning qualification for the T20 World Cup 2024. This includes two teams from Africa, one from America, two from Asia, one from the East Asia-Pacific region, and two from Europe. Additionally, the top eight teams from the T20 World Cup 2022 have automatically qualified. Afghanistan and Bangladesh secured their spots due to their strong T20 rankings, while the USA and the West Indies earned entry as hosts.

Of particular significance is the inclusion of Canada and the USA, both of which will make their T20 World Cup debut in 2024. Other Associate Nations that have qualified for the tournament include teams from Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Netherlands, and Ireland. The 20 participating teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each.
Nepal’s qualification for the T20 World Cup 2024 marks their return to the tournament after a decade, having previously participated in 2014. Oman, on the other hand, last competed in the T20 World Cup in 2021, and PNG was also part of the 2021 tournament. Unfortunately, the UAE and Hong Kong teams were unable to secure qualification for this edition.
