After India’s former batter, Wriddhiman Saha retired from all forms of cricket and his comments of not being good enough for Indian cricket, the Indian star wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant posted on X saying,
“As a fellow keeper, I have always admired your skills and your craft. Wishing you all the success and happiness in your next chapter @Wriddhipops bhaiya.“

Indian cricketer Wriddhiman Saha has officially announced his retirement from all formats of the game, bringing an end to his 17-year career with a heartfelt farewell during the Ranji Trophy match against Punjab at Eden Gardens on February 1, 2025. The 40-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, renowned for his exceptional skills behind the stumps, saw his final batting innings come to an unfortunate end with a duck—an ironically bittersweet conclusion to the illustrious career of this esteemed cricketer.
“After a cherished journey in cricket, this season will be my last. I’m honoured to represent Bengal one final time, playing only in the Ranji Trophy before I retire. Let’s make this season one to remember!” Saha had posted on the social media platform ‘X’.
In 141 First-Class matches, Saha has scored 7,169 runs at an average of 48.68, including 14 centuries and 44 fifties. The 40-year-old last played for India in December 2021 against New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium.
