On Saturday (June 21), Rishabh Pant became another name to go to the history books after breaking the previous record set by Mahendra Singh Dhoni to have the most centuries in Test cricket by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter. Dhoni took part in 90 Test matches with India between 2005-2014 and accomplished six centuries in Test cricket; on the other hand, the India Test player of the day, Pant has scored seven centuries in Test cricket thus far.

Pant is one of the three players in the history of cricket who has three or more century against a single team in a single country in Test cricket. All three of these centuries were against England in England. And the 27 year old wicketkeeper-batter reached 100 runs on the 146th delivery of his innings as he by has now hit 10 fours and 4 sixes. This makes his ton stand to 4 against England.
Pant in Tests
Pant made 123 as he scored the fifth century of his Test career on behalf of India in 35 World Test Championship (WTC) Test matches so far. Rohit Sharma (9) and Shubman Gill (6) are the only ones to have hit more triple-digit innings in the WTC on behalf of India.
