Rinku is listed among the reserve players for the tournament, along with Shubman Gill, Khaleel Ahmed, and Avesh Khan. The 26-year-old was part of the KKR team that won the Indian Premier League 2024 on May 26, requiring him to stay back in India to play in the IPL final.

Rinku Singh Touches Down In New York
Rinku has now arrived in New York, sharing the update with his fans via Instagram. He posted a photo on his Instagram story with wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Rinku didn’t have a standout season in IPL 2024, scoring only 168 runs from 11 innings with an average of 18.66 and a strike rate of 148.67, with his highest score being 36. In a season where many KKR batters were in excellent form, Rinku didn’t get many opportunities lower in the order and thus couldn’t make a significant impact during KKR’s victorious season.
Despite his modest performance, Rinku’s omission from the 15-member World Cup squad received criticism from several experts and fans. The Aligarh-born cricketer made the most of his international opportunities following a breakthrough IPL 2023 season. After his debut for India, he continued his impressive form, scoring 356 runs from 11 innings with an average of 89 and a strike rate of 176.23, including a couple of fifties. However, despite his remarkable performances, Rinku’s absence from the T20 World Cup squad is notable, with the selectors opting for Shivam Dube instead.
