In a remarkable display of Test cricket batting, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a determined century against Australia, showcasing the perfect blend of technique and temperament on Saturday in Melbourne. His 171-ball hundred, decorated with ten boundaries and one six, exemplified the classical approach to Test match batting.
He celebrated his century with the pose of planting the bat into the ground and placing the helmet over the grip. He also did the famous ‘Pushpa Raj‘ pose during the match. Fans had many theories about the poses but Nitish Kumar Reddy removed all speculations. He told the BBCI,
“After my Hundred, I was planting my bat – keeping the helmet – so there is Indian flag and saluting the flag – the biggest motivation is playing for the country and it was memorable”.
