He is just 24 runs short of shattering the 9,000 runs record for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in T20 cricket. He is currently the highest run scorer for the franchise with 8,976 runs and is way past cricket legends like AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Virat Kohli has been a part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru ever since its inception in 2008. He has been playing for the Bengaluru-based franchise for the past 18 years. In the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League, Kohli was acquired by the RCB for a sum of just 12 lakhs INR. In the 2025 edition of the IPL, Kohli was retained by the Bengaluru based franchise for 21 crores. Kohli is the team’s longest-serving captain, who has led the team for 143 matches from 2011 to 2023.
