Shreyanka Patil forced out of the WPL third season after sustaining a shin injury that compelled Royal Challengers Bengaluru to look for a replacement player. All-rounder Sneh Rana entered the replacement lineup after Shreyanka Patil failed to recuperate for the match-day kickoff on February 14.

Patil’s departure from RCB impacts the team heavily because of her triumphs as the top wicket-taker during their successful 2024 championship run when she took 13 wickets in eight matches including a historic four-wicket match in the final against Delhi Capitals. The injury concerns facing RCB became stronger after they lost both Asha Sobhana and Sophie Molineux and Kate Cross along with Sophie Devine due to injuries.
The Gujarat Giants experience of Rana has provided her with essential value which she brings to the team after replacing Patil. She spent the past two WPL seasons with the Gujarat Giants and filled in as stand-in captain during Beth Mooney’s injury break. Despite her initial auction failure Rana has received an opportunity to play for the current champion team.
