Phil Salt’s Fever

During the contest against the Chennai Super Kings on 3 May 2025, Jacob Bethell was seen along with Virat Kohli opening for the team. Salt missed the match due to viral fever and was rested for the game. Although Bethell and Kohli gave a wonderful start to the team but the Royal Challengers managed to win the game with a marginal 2-run victory.RCB will be playing against the Lucknow Super Giants on 9 May.

Josh Hazlewood’s Shoulder Niggle

During the same contest, Australian pacer and the RCB’s ace bowler in this season, Josh Hazlewood, was also seen resting for the match. He had suffered a shoulder niggle earlier which led to him missing the match. The repercussions of his absence were seen in the game as Chennai managed to get past the 200-run mark but eventually lost the game by 2 runs.

Romario Shephard’s Call For National Duty

Shepherd, who has earned the nickname “Black Dragon,” delivered a thunderous performance against CSK, scoring 53 runs off just 14 balls with 4 boundaries and 6 sixes, putting fear into the opposition and playing a crucial role in the team’s victory with his explosive batting.

However, reports suggest that Shepherd might leave RCB due to his selection in the West Indies squad for their upcoming ODI series tour of England and Ireland. If he indeed decides to depart, it would be a significant setback for RCB.
