Due to the unfortunate and tragic accident that took place at Bangalore on June 4, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise will aid the families of the 11 people who lost their lives in the stampede with Rs 10 lakhs each. The happiness of winning their first IPL trophy for RCB was cut short by the death of 11 fans, who were part of the huge crowd trying to see the winners as they left the stadium.
“The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of INR 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased,” the franchise said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.
“In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident. Our fans will always remain at the heart of everything that we do. We remain united in grief,” the statement said.

They (including children) went to MG Road, Brigade Road, Cubbon Park, and Vidhan Souda because they wanted to see their idols, but the 11 families now must deal with a tragedy that could have been avoided. On that complicated day, 33 of RCB’s supporters had to go to the hospital. All tickets were sold within minutes, but the fans gathered in such numbers at the stadium’s main and side gates that there was not enough security to manage them.
