The India national cricket team pulled off a brilliant escape from draw in the IND vs AUS 3rd Test played at ‘The Gabba’ in Brisbane. The Indian team ended up drawing the match from a place from where they were expected to lose the match. The last pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep added crucial runs which helped the Indian team avoid follow-on in the first innings. Apart from the brilliant 10th wicket partnership, rain also played a major role behind the result of the match due to which more than 2.5 half day got cancelled due to rain.

Ravi Shastri Highlights Similarity Between Jasprit Bumrah-Akash Deep And Bumrah-Mohammed Shami Partnerships

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri reminded the Jasprit Bumrah-Akash Deep partnership of Mohammed Shami and Bumrah partnership from 2021 England tour. Speaking to ICC, Shastri stated that during 2021 England were the favourites to win against India on Day 5 and the partnership between Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah changed then tone of the match. He said, “It reminded me of the celebration in COVID times, when Jasprit and Mohammed Shami were involved in a partnership at Lord’s, which turned the game on its head.”

“England were odds on favourites on the final day to win the Test. And that partnership, I think of about 80 or 90, suddenly turned the game on its head and by the end of the day, India had won the Test match”, Ravi Shastri added.
