Rape case against Cristiano Ronaldo gets fresh appeal
New Delhi: Portugal star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo is once again in the headlines and not for good reasons. American model Kathryn Mayorga against the US judge's decision to dismiss the civil case against him.
The 37-year-old model had earlier publicly accused the striker of rape in 2017. She had claimed that Ronaldo raped her in a hotel room back in 2009.

The case was settled out-of-court for £275,000 when the Portuguese denied the rape claim and made the payment.
However, Mayorga wants that settlement to be overturned and seeking a €54 million payout. She is appealing against the US District Judge Jennifer Dorsey's decision.

It has been maintained that the Critiano Ronaldo will not face any charges but the civil case can lead to payout if Mayorga's appeal is successful.
