During a match in the 2024 Ranji Trophy, the Hyderabad team delivered an impressive performance against Arunachal Pradesh. They posted a formidable total of 615 runs in just 60 overs (59.3 overs). The standout performer was Tanmay Agarwal, who played an outstanding innings, scoring 366 runs with 26 sixes and 34 boundaries in a mere 181 balls.

Tanmay created a new world record in this innings, surpassing the previous record held by New Zealand’s Colin Munro, who had hit 23 sixes in a first-class match, scoring 281 runs in 2014-15. Notably, Tanmay has now broken this world record almost a decade later.

Subsequently, he set a global benchmark for the fastest triple century in first-class cricket, achieving this milestone in 147 balls. In the process, he surpassed the records not only in Ranji Trophy but also outshone several eminent players in the world of first-class cricket.
