SRH vs GT: An important encounter awaits in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as SunRisers Hyderabad takes on Gujarat Titans in Hyderabad on Thursday. The outcome of this match will significantly influence the IPL 2024 playoff race. However, with rain being a constant figure at the Uppal Stadium on matchday, the playoff scenarios can witness different outcomes on the night. As of now, Kolkata Knight Riders (19 points in 13 matches) and Rajasthan Royals (16 points in 13 matches) have secured their spots.

SRH To Benefit From Rain?
If the rain persists in Hyderabad, it would eventually mean that the points will be shared between Gujarat and Hyderabad, taking the hosts to 15 points on the table, which will confirm their spot in the IPL playoffs too.
Possible Change In Playoff Scenario?
Delhi Capitals (14 points in 14 matches, -0.377 NRR) and Lucknow Super Giants (12 points in 13 matches, -0.787 NRR) hold slim hopes of qualifying, largely due to their poor Net Run Rates.
The main battle is among Chennai Super Kings (14 points in 13 matches, +0.528 NRR), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (12 points in 13 matches, +0.387 NRR), and SunRisers Hyderabad (14 points in 12 matches, +0.406 NRR). SRH has two remaining matches (against GT on Thursday, and Punjab Kings on Sunday). Even if they win one match, they will secure a playoff berth. If both RCB and CSK are to qualify, they will be banking on SRH losing both their matches and then the Net Run Rate coming into play.
However, RCB and CSK are facing another concern. Heavy rainfall is being reported from Hyderabad on Thursday, with accuweather.com indicating close to a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the evening.
