Meanwhile, India reached the final by defeating England by 68 runs in the second semi-final. Having triumphed over all their opponents in the tournament, both teams are poised to deliver one last performance to claim the coveted title.
Rain To Play Spoilsport In the IND vs SA Final?
However, bad weather is predicted to threaten the match, with heavy rain forecasted for the day. According to weather.com, there is a 70% chance of rain, and at the scheduled start time of 10:30 am local time (8:00 pm IST), there is a 66% chance of rain. The outlook remains bleak into the evening, with a 50% chance of precipitation at 4:00 pm local time (1:30 am IST).
Thus, the likelihood of a complete match seems doubtful. To ensure the game’s completion, the ICC (International Cricket Council) has set aside a reserve day for the final on Sunday, June 30. Nevertheless, every effort will be made to finish the match on the scheduled day. If the game is moved to the reserve day, it will again start at 10:30 am (local time).
What Happens In Case Of A Washout?
For a result to be determined using the DLS method, both teams must play at least ten overs, unlike the group stage games where five overs per side were sufficient. If neither team can bat for ten overs each over the two days, the trophy will be shared between the finalists.
