Samit Dravid, a left-arm fast bowler, was acquired by the franchise for ₹50,000. As both a middle-order batsman and a fast bowler, he has previously represented the Karnataka U-19 team. Karnataka clinched the Cooch Behar Trophy, and in the final against Mumbai, Samit impressed with his fast bowling, claiming 2 wickets in 19 overs. Some of his bowling clips went viral. Additionally, Samit has played for the KSCA XI against the English county team Lancashire. The Maharaja Trophy will take place from September 15 to October 1 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where Samit Dravid will be looking to make a significant impact.

Rahul Dravid’s younger son, Anvay Dravid, is also following in his footsteps. Last year, Anvay captained the Karnataka U-16 team in the Vijay Merchant Trophy. He plays as a wicketkeeper for the team. Interestingly, this tournament also featured Virender Sehwag’s son, Aryavir Sehwag, who led the Delhi team. This created a notable match-up between Sehwag and Dravid. Aryavir scored an impressive half-century during the tournament.

Rahul Dravid has always emphasized that he gives his children the freedom to choose their own careers. In a recent interview, while he was the head coach of Team India, he was asked if he trains his children. He mentioned that balancing both roles—being a coach and a father—is quite challenging, and he prefers to enjoy his role as a father.
After his tenure as head coach ended, there has been speculation about him being offered coaching roles by some IPL franchises. Recently, it was reported that the Rajasthan Royals have shown interest in bringing him back into their fold. Although there has been no official announcement yet, it is anticipated that Rahul Dravid’s new role will be revealed soon.
