R Ashwin Made A Big Revelation, Addressed When He Will Retire From International Cricket

India's experienced off-spinner R Ashwin is the second highest wicket-taker in Tests for India. He has talked about his retirement before the Test series against Bangladesh.

Team India is going to return to Test cricket after a long time, where it will face the challenge of Bangladesh. This series between the two countries is starting on September 19. This series will be very important in terms of the World Test Championship. Before the start of this series, India’s star spinner R Ashwin talked about his retirement. He said that he has no plans to retire at the moment. The 37-year-old player said that he would retire when he does not feel the same passion for the game as before.

Veteran off-spinner Ashwin is India’s second-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. Although Ashwin has not yet officially retired from white-ball cricket, he rarely gets a chance to play in ODI and T20 International formats.

Regarding the retirement, he said, ‘There is nothing like that in my mind. I am thinking about only one day at a time because when you grow up, you must make extra effort every day. It is not the same as before.’

Anil Kumble Wants Him To Break His Record!

‘I have worked very hard in the last 3-4 years. The day I feel that I do not want to improve, I will retire. I have not set any targets for myself. Anil Bhai wants me to break his record, but I am happy living every day. I do not want to lose my love for the game by setting a target.’ He further said.

Ashwin Also Talked About His Difficult Phase

Ashwin also talked about his difficult phase between 2018 and 2020, when injuries and form forced him to think about his future in cricket. Ashwin said, ‘I know how my life changed after that difficult period. I am maintaining my joy of cricket and the moment I feel that I am losing it, I will leave this game. We all play, and we all have to retire one day. Someone else will come and do well. This is Indian cricket.’
