PSL To Be CANCELLED? UAE Likely To Deny Permission To Pakistan To Host The League-Report

The ECB is likely to shut the doors for the Pakistan Super League to take place in UAE.

The dream for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to stage the remainder of the PSL 10 in the United Arab Emirates has taken a massive blow. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) remains cautions of what it can unleash in the war of the escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan. Following the recent developments, PCB said that the remaining fixtures of the current Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on X. The Pakistan board said that the final eight games of the tournament, (previously scheduled at Rawalpindi, Multan and Lahore) will now take place in the UAE.

The UAE has a diverse South Asian population which enjoys cricket. Hosting a tournament like the PSL in the midst of such tense circumstances could vitiate harmony, pose security risks and stir unnecessary friction between communities,” the source said.

ECB And BBCI’s Strong Relations

The recent developments have contributed to the fear by the Emirates Cricket Board that be seen as an ally of the PCB, something that it thinks may be implied through the act of harbouring PSL. The Emirates Cricket Board has had an excellent relationship with the BCCI over the last few years, hosting the ‘India’ edition of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, editions of the IPL, and India matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Dubai is also the headquarters of the International Cricket Council and the place where many Asian Cricket Council events have been hosted during the time of the previous President and current ICC Chairman, Jay Shah at the ACC.

Brave Indian Response

Indian Armed Forces answered directly to the Pahalgam terror attack of April 22 by taking the offensive on Wednesday to launch ‘Operation Sindoor’, launching precision strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). Pakistan reacted, but the Indian Army during the intervening night of May 8 and May 9 thwarted and responded to several drone attacks from the Pakistan Air Force on the western border and the Line of Control (LoC) in J&K.

“EAM Dr S Jaishankar had stated that we had warned Pakistan at the start, which is clearly the early phase after Operation Sindoor’s commencement. This is being falsely represented as being before the commencement. This utter misrepresentation of facts is being called out, “ the MEA said.
