On Friday April 11, 2025 the Pakistan Super League’s technical committee approved the replacement decision. West Indian opener Charles received an injury that forced his withdrawal from PSL 2025 and he requires medical rehabilitation from the Cricket West Indies Team. Turner’s signing promises to strengthen Multan’s batting lineup because they want to perform well in this season.

Australian cricketer Ashton Turner joins Multan Sultans as part of their substitution for West Indies opener Johnson Charles who suffered an injury during PSL 2025. Turner enters the Pakistan Super League with T20 experience after his debut in the tournament as a Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) player in PSL history. The Pakistan Super League technical committee sanctioned the replacement move on April 11, 2025 because Charles could not play in the season due to injury. The medical staff at Cricket West Indies treats Johnson Charles as he recovers from his injury which has left a notable opening that Turner plans to occupy.

In-Form Ashton Turner Set To Boost Multan Sultans Ahead Of PSL 10 Opener

Turner’s batting performance has been outstanding in recent weeks especially during the 2024–25 Big Bash League with Perth Scorchers who achieved 240 runs at a devastating strike rate of 147.23. The Pretoria Capitals team selected Turner for the SA20 season where he struck 31 runs during two matches maintaining a strike rate of 147.61. The right-handed batter will officially report to Rawalpindi in the next week with Multan Sultans to potentially reach availability for forthcoming games. The Sultans led by Mohammad Rizwan open PSL 10 on April 12 today (April 12) to play against Karachi Kings at the National Bank Cricket Arena.
