Ex-Pakistan all-rounder, Imad Wasim was spotted smoking in the dressing room right after delivering an impressive performance, securing a five-wicket haul for Islamabad United during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine final against Multan Sultans at Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena. His exceptional bowling, combined with Martin Guptill’s fifty, was instrumental in Islamabad’s triumph, securing their third PSL championship with a narrow two-wicket victory.

Wasim wreaked havoc on the Multan Sultan batting line-up after Islamabad was tasked with bowling first in the final showdown. He struck early, claiming the first wicket in just the second over by dismissing opener Yasir Khan. Later, he teamed up with captain Shadab Khan to further dismantle Multan’s batting order, reducing them to four wickets down for 85 runs by the 12th over.

Upon his return to the attack, Wasim showcased his prowess by dismissing Khushdil and Chris Jordan in consecutive deliveries, narrowly missing out on a hat-trick. Nonetheless, his exceptional bowling display saw him finish with figures of 5 for 23, making him the first bowler ever to claim a five-wicket haul in a PSL final. His remarkable performance played a pivotal role as Multan Sultans were restricted to 159 for nine.

Following his remarkable bowling performance, Wasim retired to the dressing room where he was observed smoking, a moment captured and subsequently circulated widely on social media platforms.

Before Imad Wasim, other cricketers have also been seen smoking in the dressing room. In 2022, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Shahzad was caught smoking during an international match and was reprimanded. And during the 2023 ODI World Cup, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell was spotted smoking an e-cigarette in the dressing room.
