Manpreet Singh’s Haryana Steelers were able to clinch the PKL 2024 title after defeating three-time champions Patna Pirates in the final held at the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune. Steelers won the match by a margin of nine points and the final scoreline at the end of the match was 32-23. Haryana won their first-ever title since their debut in the biggest Kabaddi league in the world. Haryana all-rounder Shivam Patare ended up picking a total of nine points in the match which helped the Steelers gain a lead from the first minute of the PKL 2024 summit clash. On the other hand, Pirates lacked in raiding and all the pressure came up on the defenders. Gurdeep picked six points which included five tackles and one bonus point.

Haryana Steelers had maintained a brilliant dominance in the 2024 edition of the Pro Kabaddi League and finished at the top of the points table with 16 wins from 24 games and 84 points. Steelers had been a quality side from their first season in the Pro Kabaddi League but weren’t able to convert their potential into results. They mostly ended up on the bottom of the points table. Haryana Steelers defeated the UP Yoddhas to qualify for the finals by 28-25 whereas Patna Pirates ended up defeating Dabang Delhi KC by 28-32 to make a place in the summit clash. Steelers had qualified for finals in previous edition of the PKL but ended up losing to Puneri Paltan and couldn’t win the title.
