With fear clouds still across the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, a report by Cricket Pakistan has claimed that the BCCI and PCB are expected to have discussions on Thursday. BCCI have refused to travel to Pakistan and wants the tournament to be played under the hybrid model. On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is pretty much firm with their stance of hosting the tournament in Pakistan itself. While the ICC is yet to release the schedule of the tournament, reports had emerged earlier that it will be released at the end of this week.
BCCI And PCB To Hold Discussions On Issues Over Champions Trophy
Report by Cricket Pakistan further states that BCCI and PCB officials are expected to discuss the matters related to the ICC Champions Trophy whereas an ICC delegation is also expected to visit Pakistan to oversee the preparations of the tournament. The report adds that the delegation is expected to arrive next week.
Earlier there were several reports that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is trying to convince the PCB to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 under the hybrid model to ensure Team India’s participation in the tournament. The Indian team last travelled to Pakistan back 2008, however, since then both the countries have played one bilateral series back in 2012, when the Pakistani team came to India. Since the 2008 Asia Cup, Team India hasn’t toured Pakistan for any bilateral series or tournament.
