Ten days after the Paris Olympics begin, India will see its first action from Olympic and world champion Neeraj Chopra, who will compete in the men’s javelin throw qualification round. Alongside Chopra, Kishore Jena will also take part in the event. Jena will compete in the earlier group of the qualification round, while Chopra will be in the second group later in the day.
Chopra’s Javelin Challenge
The qualification standard for the javelin throw finals, scheduled for Thursday, is set at 84 meters. Neeraj Chopra, Kishore Jena, and other competitors can secure a spot in the final by surpassing this distance. A total of 12 javelin throwers will advance to the final.
Neeraj Chopra, the reigning Olympic and world champion, is defending the gold medal he won at the delayed Tokyo Olympics three years ago with a throw of 87.58 meters. As he heads into the Paris Olympics, Chopra is a strong favorite.
He will face stiff competition from athletes like Jakub Vadlejch, Julian Weber, Arshad Nadeem, Anderson PetIndia’s Neeraj Chopra and Kishore Jena will compete in the men’s javelin throw qualification at the Paris Olympics, with Chopra defending his gold medal and facing strong competitors, including Pakistan’s wildcard Arshad Nadeem.ers, and German rising star Max Dehning, who recently surpassed the 90-meter mark.

Upon arriving in Paris, Neeraj Chopra left a motivational message on the wall of the Indian headquarters, which read: ‘This is the time for performance. Samay aa gaya hai (The time has come).’
