The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its 15-member squad for the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh. Bangladesh will host Pakistan from July 20 to 24 at the Sher-e-Bangla cricket stadium in Dhaka. Salman Ali Agha will lead the Pakistan national team after the exclusion of star players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi. It will be a major boost for confidence for Pakistan’s team for future tournaments like the Asia Cup.

Salman Ali Agha To Lead
The 15-man squad for the Bangladesh tour later this year includes a balance of veteran and emerging players, with Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, and Faheem Ashraf returning to the T20I fold while emerging talents Saim Ayub, Hassan Nawaz, and Mohammad Abbas Afridi have been given a chance to shine in the coming series. Previous captains and erstwhile Pakistan batting pillars Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were again ignored, with both still being kept out of the T20I fold. The PCB has not made any word on Babar and Rizwan’s ongoing snub from the T20I team.

Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan’s ongoing exclusion from the T20I team made sure that their careers in the shorter version of the game is over. Babar and Rizwan last played for the Men in Green in T20Is against South Africa at Centurion back in December 2024. Meanwhile, Mohammad Haris and Sahibzada Farhan have been selected for the wicketkeeping responsibilities by the Pakistan selectors, while the spin department includes the names of Abrar Ahmed and Sufyan Moqim. Ahmed Daniyal and Salman Mirza, on the other hand, will handle the pace attack. Shaheen Shah Afridi was not selected for the Bangladesh tour.
