Salman Agha’s Pakistan will seek to continue their winning momentum when they take on Afghanistan in the fourth T20I of the current three-nation series at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium this evening. The game will commence at 8:30 PM IST, with the toss at 8:00 PM IST.
Having registered commanding victories against both Afghanistan (by 39 runs) and hosts United Arab Emirates (by 31 runs), Pakistan are well placed at the top of the table with two wins out of two matches. A third consecutive victory would effectively seal their supremacy in advance of the final.
Pakistan Riding High on Momentum
In their last match against Afghanistan, Pakistan gave a holistic performance with bat and ball. Having a firing bowling attack in rhythm and the top-order delivering when required, Pakistan have appeared well-balanced and in command. Skipper Salman Agha, who led in place of a number of senior players, has organized his men well and will be eager to carry the winning momentum into the latter half of the series.
Afghanistan Looking for a Comeback
Afghanistan, however, will have to regroup fast. Although they can still aim for the final, a victory today will prove to be instrumental in boosting their morale and staying ahead of the UAE in the competition. Their batsmen will have to rise to the occasion following the disappointing defeat in the last match against Pakistan, where they did not attempt to chase the target with intent or discipline.

With the final hanging in the balance and both teams yet to prove themselves, it would be a close-fought contest in the Sharjah lights. Pakistan could be the favourites, but Afghanistan have what it takes to produce an upset – particularly in T20 cricket.
