Zimbabwe registered a 80 (DLS) run win in the first ODI of the three-match series played at the Queens Sports Club ground in Bulawayo. Pakistan were reduced to 60/6 in 21 overs when rain entered the match while chasing down 206 runs. The Pakistani team played really slow against the Zimbabwean batters which allowed the opposition to create pressure and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Zimbabwe Upset Pakistan In Bulawayo
Batting first in the match ZIM vs PAK 1st ODI, Zimbabwe were wrapped up for a score of 205 runs in 40.2 overs. The Pakistani bowlers bowled extremely well wherein Faisal Akram and Salman Ali Agha picked up three wickets apiece, whereas Aamer Jamal, Mohammed Hasnain and Haris Rauf picked up one wicket each. On the other hand, Richard Ngarava top scored for his team and played an innings of 48 runs from 52 balls. Sikandar Raza also played a decent innings of 39 runs from 56 balls.
Chasing down the target, Pakistan were reduced to 58/6 as they were troubled by the Zimbabwean spinners. Big names including Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique and Salman Ali Agha were dismissed cheaply, whereas skipper Mohammad Rizwan played a very slow knock of 19 runs from 43 balls. The rain entered the match and in the end, it was called off. As Pakistan were 80 runs behind the DLS score, they ended up losing the match.
