PAK vs WI: Pakistan’s 38-year-old spinner Noman Ali created history by taking a hat-trick in the second Test match against West Indies. In the second match of the two-Test series being played between Pakistan and West Indies in Multan, Noman Ali took three consecutive wickets and became the first spinner to take a hat-trick in Pakistan’s Test history. This Pakistani spinner destroyed the West Indies batting with his deadly bowling.
Thanks to Noman’s brilliant performance, the Pakistan team, which won the first Test, strengthened its hold in the first session of the second Test. Pakistan had won the first Test played in Multan by 127 runs.
First Pakistani spinner to take a hat-trick in Tests
The second Test match between Pakistan and the West Indies is being played in Multan. West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first, but this decision proved wrong from the very beginning. On the first day, when West Indies’ innings was struggling at 37/4, Noman Ali took charge of bowling in the 12th over and took a hat-trick by taking three wickets in the first three balls.

He dismissed Justin Greaves (1) on the first ball of the over by getting him caught by Babar Azam. On the very next ball, he dismissed Tevin Imlach (0) LBW. While on the third ball, Noman completed his hat-trick by dismissing Kevin Sinclair (0). This way, Noman Ali became the first spin bowler to take a hat-trick in Pakistan’s Test cricket history.

A new chapter added to Pakistan’s Test history
It is worth noting that Pakistan played its first Test match in October 1952, but since then no spinner has been successful in taking a hat-trick in Tests. Noman Ali achieved this feat by ending this 72-year drought. With this, he has become the fifth bowler to take a hat-trick in Tests for Pakistan. Before him, this feat was achieved by Wasim Akram (twice), Abdul Razzaq, Mohammad Shami, and Naseem Shah.

Talking about the international career of left-arm spin bowler Noman Ali, he has taken 73 wickets and scored 362 runs in 18 Test matches played for Pakistan so far. Noman made his Test debut against South Africa in Karachi in 2021. At the same time, Noman has 420 wickets and 2962 runs in first-class cricket.
