A Glorious Debut Performance
Coming in at number four, Ghulam had a task on hand for the stumbling Pakistan, who were reeling at 19-2. Although Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood went early, Ghulam showed maturity and class, reaching 118 off 224 balls.
Ghulam finally reached the century mark facing just 192 balls. He built a decisive 149-run partnership with Saim Ayub who had 77 to his name. Ghulam’s innings pretty much ensured that Pakistan remained on top of affairs after winning the toss and opted to bat first.
