On Day 2 of the Test match in Multan, Sajid Khan presented a brilliant four-wicket haul that revitalized Pakistan’s hopes against England. After the sharp start by England, it seemed that this time they were going to take over, but off-spin bowling by Sajid once again rattled this situation for the hosts.

England’s Initial Supremacy
England opener Ben Duckett was forceful in response to Pakistan’s total of 366. Duckett scored a brilliant 100 off just 120 balls, boasting three half-century partnerships and taking the run rate approximately to five an over. Duckett’s expertly placed sweep shots left Pakistan captain Shan Masood scrambling for answers.

The Turning Point
A strong breakthrough for Sajid after Tea, as he clinically cleaned up the England batting order. He got rid of Ollie Pope with a proper delivery; then Joe Root tried a sweep but chopped the ball onto his stumps. Ben Duckett, the centurion, edged a drive to slip and then a brilliant delivery bowled Harry Brook through the gate.

Thanks to Sajid’s spell, England collapsed from a tight 211/2 to 225/5, finding themselves in a situation not of their making.
Pakistan Steadfastness
England had been on top in the morning session, taking three significant wickets to make an incision, before Sajid’s match-changing batting. Mohammad Rizwan went to Brydon Carse. Agha Salman had struggled initially; he picked up the pace later with boundaries to forge a crucial partnership with Aamer Jamal.
But once Sajid found his rhythm, Pakistan were soon back on their stride, dismissing England for 225.
Brief scores: Pakistan 366 (Kamran Ghulam 118, Saim Ayub 77, Mohammad Rizwan 41; Jack Leach 4-114, Brydon Carse 3-50) lead England 239/6 (Duckett 114, Root 34; Sajid 4-86, Noman 2-75) by 127 runs.
