Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been out of action since his horrific car accident in December 2022. The Delhi Capitals skipper had suffered multiple injuries on his body and questions were even arising on the 26-year-old’s career in the future.

Undergoing surgery on his knee for an ACL injury meant that the player was ruled out for 6-7 months automatically. Rishabh spent a lot of days at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for his rehabilitation and shared his progress with his fans every step of the way.

However, one statistic that is coming to the shock of Indian fans is Rishabh’s current Test batting ranking. According to the latest ICC Test rankings, Rishabh Pant is still in the Top 15 Test batters in the world despite of being out of action for over a year now.

Pant is placed on the 13th spot above some prominent cricketing names like Ben Stokes, Jonny Bairstow and Mohd Rizwan too. Pant played his last Test match in December 2022 against Bangladesh and scored an impressive 93 runs off just 104 deliveries.

Important asset for the team

Rishabh Pant had been one of Team India’s most influential batter in Test cricket and has given some inspiring displays for the team over the years. The special performance against Australia at Gaba will forever be etched in the memories of the Indian cricket fans.

With Rishabh Pant in a race against time for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in June, Indian fans would love to see him return to wear the famous blue jersey in the quadrennial tournament.

His IPL side Delhi Capitals are also hoping for him to make a decent comeback in the domestic league.
