Oshada Fernando Returns As Sri Lanka Names It’s Squad Against New Zealand

SL vs NZ Sri Lanka Announced Squad: A two-match Test series is going to be held between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. For which the New Zealand team is going to tour Sri Lanka. The series is going to start on September 18. Recently, the Sri Lankan team went to England and defeated the English team in a Test match. Then the morale of the Sri Lankan team is high. Now a fresh 16-member team for the two-match Test series with New Zealand was announced by Sri Lanka Cricket Board. A strong player returned to the Sri Lankan team after almost a year.

Oshada Fernando Returns To The Squad

Hard-hitting batter Oshada Fernando has been added to the Sri Lankan team for the Test series against New Zealand. Now Fernando is returning to the Sri Lankan team after a year. Fernando played his last match for Sri Lanka in March 2023. But now, this player is ready to make a splash against New Zealand. Fernando performed brilliantly in the match played between Sri Lanka ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’. In this match, he played innings of 122 and 80 runs.

Dhananjay de Silva also will captain the side in the Test matches against New Zealand. Alongside him, other senior cricketers such as Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Matthews and Dinesh Chandimal have also been selected. At the same time, other junior players like Pathum Nissanka, Kamindu Mendis and Sadeera Samarawickrama have also been trusted.
