Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Director of Cricket Mo Bobat has lauded Virat Kohli for his consistently aggressive mindset, particularly during high-pressure moments. Bobat shared his thoughts on the star batter during the latest episode of RCB’s YouTube series, “Collective Excellence and Camaraderie: E02 – RCB’s Journey to the Finale.”
“One of the things I admire most about Virat’s approach is that he always chooses the aggressive option it’s never the defensive one,” Bobat said. “That mindset is crucial, especially when you reach the intense, pressure-filled stages of a tournament. Many players might look to play it safe, but Virat doesn’t allow that. He always pushes for more, and that’s incredibly impressive.”
Veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik also had high praise for Kohli, comparing his dedication and work ethic to that of some of the greatest athletes in global sports.
“Virat Kohli is one of the most pristine greats of the game,” Karthik said. “I use the word pristine because of his sheer discipline and work ethic. In that sense, I would compare him to the likes of Kobe Bryant and Novak Djokovic.”
Karthik highlighted Kohli’s behind-the-scenes efforts as a key reason for his sustained excellence. “The amount of preparation he puts in most of which never appears on screen is what makes him such a pure, unfiltered, and elite performer. He’s been doing this for RCB for a long time now.”

Kohli’s Stats In IPL 2025
So far in IPL 2025, Kohli has scored 614 runs in 14 matches at an impressive average of 55.81, including eight half-centuries. His highest score this season is an unbeaten 73, and he’s maintained a strong strike rate of over 146, making him the fifth-highest run-scorer in the tournament.
With the final against either Mumbai Indians (MI) or Punjab Kings (PBKS) set to take place in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, Kohli will be looking to add more runs and possibly an elusive IPL title to his stellar season.
