In IPL 2025 match 58, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at 7:30 PM at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, there is a possibility of weather affecting the game because rain clouds are hovering over the stadium. In spite of this doubt, everybody’s attention is focused on RCB’s ace batsman Virat Kohli, who is poised to make a special achievement in this match. There is optimism among the fans that Kohli will record his name in the records with a single boundary.
Virat Kohli on the Verge of Creating IPL History
Virat Kohli has been in top form this season. Till now, he has hit seven half-centuries and contributed 505 runs, where he is fourth in the Orange Cap race. If Kohli strikes just one four today against KKR, he would be the second-highest boundary-hitter in the history of IPL.
Redefining consistency with each passing season 👏

At the moment, Kohli has played 749 fours in the IPL. If he gets one more, he will become only the second man in the history of the tournament to reach the 750-mark. This year alone, he has played 44 fours. The total number of fours in IPL history is led by Shikhar Dhawan, who has played 768 fours. Dhawan has now retired from all forms of cricket.
Playoff Situation: RCB on the Threshold of Qualification
RCB is on the threshold of playoff qualification. With 11 games played till date, the team has won 8 and lost 3. With 16 points, RCB is placed at the second position in the points table. A victory today would bring their point tally to 18 points and seal their playoff berth.
However, if the match is washed out due to rain, both teams will be awarded one point each. Even in that scenario, RCB will qualify for the playoffs with 17 points.
