On This Day, October 4: Born to be a cricketer, Rishabh Pant has won hearts through his lively smile and aggressive playing style. He will live in the memories most vividly of that match in India’s historic Test series win at Brisbane in 2021. In that match he batted till the last ball and remained not out on 89 runs, taking the second-string Indian unit to chase down 328 runs.

Before that victory, in the same series, Pant made some sensational 97 runs in Sydney that made India draw which also became important for India.

Explosive batting by Pant made Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) sit up and take notice in the IPL auction 2016 as he quickly set down around 3,000 runs over seven seasons at a strike rate just below 150. He excels particularly against England in Test cricket with three of his first five centuries coming against them—often achieved at a breathtaking pace.

Though Pant has been employed well in the 2019 World Cup, it has to be agreed that the test matches and T20s have used him the best so far. His journey shall forever be an inspiration to the cricketers across the globe, and fans eagerly wait for his next great innings.
