Match Summary
Chasing a target of 160, India was left jittery at 31 for 4. But that Kohli-Pandya partnership of 113 all of a sudden changed the course.
Kohli’s Magnificence
India required 28 runs off the last eight balls, and Kohli was doing his magic with the last ball by hitting a six from a slower delivery of Haris Rauf from the back of the pads. Then, he just smashed one over fine leg for a six to give hope for one hell of a comeback.

The Last Over Thriller
Mohammad Nawaz got underway by sending Hardik Pandya packing with his first ball of the 20th over. After a few runs off the following two deliveries, a no-ball for height freed Kohli to yet another six. Kohli was then bowled by Nawaz through the free hit, but two runs were completed as the ball deflected off the stumps to short third.
Dinesh Karthik succumbed to a stumping attempt while going for a hoick for the fifth delivery. Ashwin, with one run required, showed composure in giving a wide and then getting the last ball over the infield to seal victory for the team.
Stand-Out Performance By Kohli
Virat Kohli was declared Player of the Match for his match-winning innings, scoring 82 runs off 53 deliveries. Since March 2021, this was just the second instance in any format when Kohli had scored over 80 runs.
It was an enthralling encounter that not only spoke of the desperation of the India-Pakistan rivalry but also marked a place for Kohli in the world of cricket.
