Afghanistan mystery girl and social media sensation Wazhma Ayoubi celebrated her team’s historic win after they thrashed defending champions England by 69 runs in an ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in New Delhi.

Batting first, Afghanistan posted a total of 284, which didn’t seem enough at the interval. However, Afghanistan spinners did wonders to bundle England out for 215 and script a historic win.

After the win, social media influencer Wazhma took to X (previously twitter) to express her happiness and also thanked Indian cricket fans for turning up in huge numbers at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday and supporting Afghanistan team.

“Afghanistan defeats the current world champions by 69 runs. Congratulations to all of Afghanistan. Finally, we achieve our first World Cup win after a long wait. Well done #AfghanAtalan @ACBofficials. And a big thank you to all our Indian brothers and sisters cheering for Afghanistan today, Dhanyavaad,” Wazhma posted on social media platform ‘X’.

It was just the second ODI World Cup win for Afghanistan in the history of the tournament, coming eight years after their last against Scotland in Australia.
