Cody Rhodes, the undisputed WWE Champion, is facing a totally different challenge now. The American Nightmare is going to step into the ring with an opponent he has never fought before. During the NXT Deadline event last night, Oba Femi beat Rick Saints to reclaim the NXT Championship.
He had previously lost the title to the former AEW superstar at NXT No Money earlier in the year. The victory over Saints not only made it possible for the Nigerian contender to take part in a Champion vs Champion match opposite Cody Rhodes at the next Saturday Night’s Main Event but also secured his place as the highest winner of the match.

Oba Femi delivers intense promo targeting Cody Rhodes
Oba Femi gave a fire promo backstage right after the championship victory. After going through his match with Ricky Saints again, the 27-year-old said he would be after Rhodes next. Femi warned the veteran main roster fighter in a very spooky tone before their fight.
“The biggest factor is change. Change came knocking at the door of Ricky Saints tonight, and it asked for his title. And he had no choice but to relinquish because change always wins. When change met the dinosaurs, he sent the meteor. When change met man in the Old Testament, he sent the flood. And when Change comes to the main roster asking for Cody Rhodes, he will send The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War, Oba Femi,” he said.
Cody Rhodes launches surprise attack on Drew McIntyre during SmackDown
On SmackDown, Cody Rhodes assaulted a former WWE Champion. Despite being fully prepared to battle NXT Champion Oba Femi at Saturday Night’s Main Event, Cody Rhodes continues to as a conflict with Drew McIntyre on Friday Night SmackDown. The latest episode of the blue brand started with Nick Aldis telling The Scottish Warrior to leave since he was still suspended. Just when McIntyre was getting back into his car, Rhodes came in unexpectedly from the other side to attack him.

The safety personnel took The American Nightmare out of the vehicle and let The Scotsman pass. Rhodes, then, proceeded to the ring and delivered a speech in which he requested the SmackDown GM to return McIntyre so he could have the former two-time WWE Champion.
The competition between the two wrestlers for the title of Undisputed WWE Champion seems to ignite once more. It would be a thing to behold how Drew McIntyre will manage, at last, to get rid of Cody Rhodes, a feat he has always done unsuccessfully before.
