New Delhi: New Zealand Test skipper Tim Southee widely known for his bowling performance, but in second Test match against England in Wellington, he showcased his batting prowess.
Tim Southee overtook MS Dhoni
On Sunday he took the cricket world by storm, surpassed the record of Indian former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
On the third day of the second Test, Southee goes hard on the English pacer Stuart Broad, and hammered Broad for a massive six. Southee smashed 73 off just 49 deliveries, hitting five boundaries and six sixes.
Southee hits 82 sixes in Test cricket
With that innings, Southee now has the total of 82 sixes in the longest format of the game. With this he now has went pass the record of MS Dhoni’s record of hitting 78 sixes in Test cricket.
The likes of Sachin Tendulkar(69), Rohit Sharma(68) and Kapil Dev(61) aren’t even close to Southee on the list.
