India will take on New Zealand during the finals of the Champions Trophy at Dubai International Stadium, UAE. India is undefeated in the tournament whereas New Zealand has lost only one game in the tournament which was to India in the group stage. In the semifinals, India clinched an easy victory against Australia while New Zealand dominated South Africa in the semifinals. New Zealand posted the highest ever score in Champions Trophy history with 362 runs on the board. Shreyas Iyer has been phenomenal in the Champions Trophy 2025. He has managed to score 195 runs till now and has shown promise in all his performances. Iyer has come to bat in tricky situations during the tournament at number 4. He played with an average of 48.75 which includes 2 significant half centuries. His performances against New Zealand in ODIs have been exceptionally well. Iyer has smashed 563 runs at an average of 70.37 against the Kiwis in 8 innings.
In the last eight innings, Iyer has scored 103 (107), 52 (57), 62 (63), 80 (76), 49 (59), 33 (29), 105 (70), and 79 (98). Iyer started with a low score against Bangladesh but bounced back against Pakistan and scored a well-deserved fifty.
