The India national cricket team is all set to take on Australia in the second Test of the five-match series at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide from 09:30 AM IST (Indian Standard Time) on December 6. Team India lead the five-match series by a margin of 1-0 and will look forward to consolidate the lead. On the other hand, the Aussies are certainly under the lot of pressure wherein they will look forward to make a comeback and level the series. Australia will be missing the services of Josh Hazlewood who will be missing the match due to a side strain injury.
While, Scott Boland is all set to replacement Josh Hazlewood in the upcoming Adelaide Test, his sudden injury raised a question mark. Hazlewood was asked after the day 3 of the Perth Test by the media persons on how will the Australian team make a comeback from the debacle at the Optus Stadium. Hazlewood looked irked with the question and weighed that the batters should put more effort to make a comeback and he is looking to perform in the second Test. Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar pointed out the mystery regarding Hazlewood’s sudden injury and had said, “Now, a few days later, Hazlewood is out of the second Test and possibly the series too with a supposed side strain. Strange, that, since nobody had noticed anything wrong with Hazlewood at that media conference.”

Aaron Finch Slams Sunil Gavaskar
However, former Australian cricketer Aaron Finch has countered Sunil Gavaskar’s statement on the ongoing issue. Finch while speaking to ESPNcricinfo rubbished the comments made by the former Indian cricketer. Finch stated that the claims made by Gavaskar are funny. He said, “It’s not jabs anymore. Sunny is throwing haymakers over the top. It’s quite funny because, having spent a lot of time with him during the first test, he was not saying things like that. He was very respectful of the current Australian group. But now he has just gone bang.”
Josh Hazlewood ended up being the most successful bowler for Australia during the IND vs AUS 1st Test in Perth and picked up five wickets. The latter could have invited troubles for the Indian batters in Adelaide with the pink ball as well, however, in the end, unfortunately he got injured. On the other hand, his replacement Scott Boland performed really well when he played a Test match against India. Boland picked up five wickets during the WTC 2023 final and helped the Aussies win the match by a margin of 209 runs.
