The IPL 2024 Playoffs competition is intensifying with five teams competing for two remaining slots. While Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have secured their places, the battle remains tight among Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, SunRisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants. With only one match left for each team except for SunRisers Hyderabad, net run rates are likely to play a crucial role in determining the final playoff spot in IPL 2024.

As per IPL 2024’s official broadcasters Star Sports, SunRisers Hyderabad has the highest chance of qualifying at 87.3 percent, followed by Chennai Super Kings at 72.7 percent and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at 39.3 percent. Delhi Capitals have a slim chance of 0.7 percent, while Lucknow Super Giants have just a 0.2 percent chance of qualifying.
SunRisers Hyderabad’s IPL Playoff Chances
SunRisers Hyderabad can secure a playoff spot by winning their remaining matches. Even if they lose one match, they still have a qualification pathway. However, if they lose both matches, their fate will hinge on net run rate. In the scenario where SunRisers Hyderabad loses both matches and Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru win their last games, the Pat Cummins-led team will need to rely on a favorable net run rate to clinch the last playoff spot. Furthermore, if Chennai Super Kings defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru and SunRisers Hyderabad lose both matches, they will need to maintain a superior run-rate compared to Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals to secure the final playoff berth.
