RCB is set to compete against RR in the IPL 2024 Eliminator. Ahead of the game, reports surfaced that RCB canceled their practice session due to a terror threat targeting Virat Kohli. However, IndiaToday has learned that the cancellation was actually due to excessive heat, not a security threat.

RCB Reveal Why They Had To Cancel Training Session
Sources informed IndiaToday.in that RCB postponed their practice session due to the intense afternoon heat and planned to practice later. However, they were informed that the floodlights would only be available until 6:30 PM, leading to the cancellation of their session on Wednesday, May 22.
“They changed the time initially it was from 2 pm to 5 pm. Then they asked from 4 pm to 6 pm. We told the team that the floodlights are available only after 6:30 pm. It was permissible, that was not an issue. However, the weather was 45 degrees Celsius. So they decided not to practice to avoid any health issues to the players. There was no issue related to any security threat,” a top source in the Ahmedabad stadium said.
“We also gave them the option of giving indoor practice arena but they said they will skip the session due to heat,” he further added.
RCB has been in remarkable form leading up to the playoffs. After being on the verge of elimination, they secured six consecutive wins to make a stunning comeback. RCB’s recent victory over CSK by more than 17 runs secured their playoff spot. They will face RR on Wednesday, and a win will set up a clash against SRH on May 24, bringing them one step closer to the tournament final.
