The disappointment can be there for football fans in Kerala as the visit of the highly expected Argentine team under Lionel Messi may be on the cards, due to financial failure as pondered to bring together the teams rate of appearance. On heading to a press conference at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala’s Sport Minister V Abdurahiman stated that the current World Cup champions will participate in an international game in the state: a match that was to be conducted under the eye of the state government.
Abdurahiman’s Statement
“All the financial assistance for organising this high-profile football event will be provided by the merchants of the state,” Abdurahiman said last year at an event in Kozhikode.

“For seven days from October 25 to November 2, Messi will be in Kerala. Apart from the friendly match, he will be on a public dias for twenty minutes to see you all,” he added.
Why Messi Is Not Coming Not India
The long -awaited visit of Lionel Messi to Kerala with Argentina’s football team no longer seems possible having failed to raise the required money, especially the Rs 70 -Crore appearance rate. First, with the backing of a section of the All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association using its ‘OLOPPO’ app, the attempted fundraising was not successful. Later, after the sponsorship was changed, it was then done to PVT LTD reporter transmission company, but they also failed to meet financial commitments before the deadline. Consequently, Argentina will play non-official matches in China, Angola and Qatar during October and November 2025 and serious questions will be raised about the plan designed by Kerala.
