Mumbai IPL franchise owner Nita Ambani delivered a motivational speech to lift the team’s spirits following their disappointing performance in IPL 2024. Nita Ambani acknowledged the team’s poor run in the current league edition, as MI finished at the bottom of the points table with only 4 wins out of 14 games, including 10 losses.

MI shared a video on social media featuring Mrs. Ambani, who attended MI’s last home game of the season against LSG at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, May 17. In her address to the dressing room, she admitted that the season did not go as planned for the 5-time champions. Nevertheless, Nita Ambani expressed pride in the group of players representing the franchise, promising a period of reflection and introspection in the coming weeks.
This marks the second time in three years that MI has finished at the bottom of the table. Prior to 2024, they also finished last in 2022, an unprecedented occurrence for the team.

Nita Ambani also extended her best wishes to the MI players who will be representing India in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies.
“To Rohit, Hardik, Surya (Suryakumar Yadav) and (Jasprit) Bumrah, I think, all Indians are cheering for you. We wish you all the best,” she said.
MI concluded the 2022 auction cycle with a win-loss record of 17-27, the worst among the 10 teams. Nine of those wins came in the 2023 season alone. It was not the kind of performance the team and fans had hoped for following the highly-discussed captaincy change.
