WPL Season 3: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has brought in an extension to deadlines related to player retention in the Women’s Premier League. The franchises, which were supposed to submit their retained player lists by October 15, now have until November 7 to do so.
Details On Retention And Squad Composition

Future Plans For The WPL

Season 3 Timeline And Venues
The BCCI has not yet issued fixed dates and venues for the third edition, but it is likely to follow a similar February-March window as the previous two installments. Franchises have indicated they expect a similar timeline, given that the final senior women’s domestic fixtures conclude in mid-January.
Venues, the BCCI could again opt to host the third edition at two locations like the second season was played at Bengaluru and New Delhi. The first season was entirely played in Mumbai.
Teams And Championship History
The WPL franchises are five: Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and UP Warriorz. Mumbai Indians are the champions for the year 2023 while the last season’s winners are Smriti Mandhana’s Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
