Team India would be looking to do well in the shortest format of the game next year as well after finishing as runner-ups in the recent ODI World Cup 2023. It will be interesting to see whether experienced players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be featuring for the major tournament or not.
Cricket finding Global status
Winning the gold medal at the Asian Games 2023 was a step forward towards making the game of cricket reach out to other non-playing countries as well. Youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh etc. were given a chance to win the maiden gold in the quadrennial event and they performed in the way which was expected from them as well.
Cricket has now also been included for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics which is a big step towards promoting the sports on a global scale.
