The IND vs AUS 1st Test didn’t start off well for the Indian team after they were wrapped up for a mere score of 150 runs in their first innings. The top batters didn’t perform well and fell against the Australian pace attack. Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy played brave knocks but in the end, the Indian team could only manage to achieve a low first innings score. While the Australian team had the momentum in the match, it changed shortly after Jasprit Bumrah turned out to be the storm for the Australian batters. The Aussies were blown away for a score of 104 runs in their first innings wherein the Indian captain managed to pick up a five-wicket haul whereas Harshit Rana ended up with three-fer and Mohammed Siraj ended up with two wickets as well.

Coming into bat in the second innings, the Indian team kickstarted with a bang wherein the duo of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 201 runs for the first wicket. While Rahul was dismissed for 77 runs, Jaiswal managed to score a brilliant hundred and played an innings of 161 runs from 297 balls. Soon after Jaiswal got out, the Indian team suffered a batting collapse wherein they lost quick wickets in the form of Dhruv Jurel and Rishabh Pant. However, Virat Kohli managed to put up decent stands for the sixth and seventh wicket along with Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar. Virat ended up scoring his 81st Test hundred and the Indian team declared their second innings at 487/6.
Chasing down 534 runs wouldn’t have been an easy task for any team on the Australian soil. The Aussies were reduced to 12/3 at the end of Day 3. At the start of Day 4, the hosts lost two quick wickets and were 79/5 at one end. Travis Head proved out to be a rescuer and played an innings of 89 runs from 101 balls. Mitchell Marsh showcased brilliant support and played a knock of 47 runs from 67 balls. However, after both the batters were dismissed, the Australian team were rattled for 238 runs in their second and at the end, Jasprit Bumrah and Co earned a historic victory in Perth by 295 runs.
