Netflix’s The Greatest Rivalry – India vs Pakistan: When two fireball collide with each other, it brings destruction around it’s surroundings. The same happened when two cricketing giants matched-up against each other in 2004 India Tour Of Pakistan Series.
The series was evenly poised with some great cricket matches with 2-2 each. During the last match at Lahore. One of a bizarre or the shocking moment was captured among the cricket fans was that when young Indian bowler Lakshmipathy Balaji smashed Pakistan’s and world’s fastest bowler Shoaib Akhtar for a big six.
Nightmare of Shoaib Akhtar
One of an instance during the series where Shoaib Akhtar described about his “Nightmare” in his life. And the nightmare was none other than was India’s Lakshmipathy Balaji. During the series, Shoaib Akhtar said:
“Well, Balaji is one of the nightmare, that of Shoaib Akhtar’s life. Every time I bowled against him, he hit me for a six.”
Akhtar said, “Mr.Balaji, do you know I am the fastest bowler?, If that ball with that pace hits your chest, you’d be dead on the spot”.
After this moment, Balaji yet again tried to smack him for a six but eventually broke his bat in that attempt. “He tried to smash me, he broke his bat with the pace”. Akhtar said.

This thing made Balaji a household name in India as well as in Pakistan. In that match, India gave a target of 294 but Pakistani managed to score 253 and India won the game as well as series by 3-2.
