India’s star Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has won everything the sport had to offer over the recent years. His highlight, however, was his Olympic gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics. He has been by far the best athlete for India to make a global presence at the biggest of stages.
Renowned Indian athlete Anju Bobby George expressed her skepticism regarding the Indian Olympic Association’s (IOA) choice to exclude ‘Golden Boy’ Neeraj Chopra from consideration as India’s flag bearer at the forthcoming Paris Olympics 2024. Recently, it was announced that veteran table tennis player Sharath Kamal would lead the Indian team as the flagbearer, while Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary Kom has been appointed as the chef de mission for the Summer Games.
