Lyon Rules Out Team India For Pakistan
This ninth edition of the T20 extravaganza will feature 20 teams and reintroduce the Super 8s stage. The semi-finals are scheduled for June 26 and 27, with the final to be held on June 29 at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
“For the T20 finals team Australia quite obviously because I’m quite biased towards them.. I think it will be I’m going to go with Pakistan. In those conditions, quality spin bowlers, but also electric batters like Babar Azam,” said Lyon in a video shared by Primevideosportau.
“I think early on in the tournament we may see the highest score in T20. I’m going to go, Mitchell Marsh, I think the power that he has with the bat but also the skill he has with the ball in hand as well. So, go well Mitch,” he added.
Lyon, making bold predictions ahead of the tournament, identified potential record-breaking performances and highlighted a star player to watch. He suggested that the highest total in a T20 match might be surpassed during this event, and backed Australia’s T20I captain, Mitchell Marsh, to shine.
With the short boundaries in the USA, high scores are anticipated, as teams boast several big hitters in their lineups. The current highest team total in T20Is is 314/3 by Nepal against Mongolia.
In a warm-up match against Namibia, Australia showcased their batting strength by chasing down 120 runs in just ten overs. If this form continues into the tournament, we could witness several records being broken.
The tournament will commence with the opening match between hosts USA and Canada on June 1 at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.
